i will sing the song of purple summer

OBSESSED with Spring Awakening lately - the soundtrack, I mean. Still trying to con the parents into taking me to go see it, or giving me money so I can see it with someone else. But the music is soooo beautiful with great harmonies and lovely poetic lyrics. Seems like a fun show, sexy, interesting. Grammatically incorrect sentences are all the rage.

Overdrew money on my bank account. ATM told me I had 200 when I had a lot less than that :( Got some really cute things though!! Totally worth it. I've got a serious problem.

Wednesday - NYC with wifey to film with MTV!!

New girlcrush:

Ashley Greene. She plays Alice Cullen in Twilight. Basically I just want to be in the middle of a Twilight cast orgy.

Writing writing writing like a raven on a writing desk! Good fun.

kill one, save a thousand, or "i'll out bitch you, plus i've got better clothes"

I keep saying to myself, "I need to blog". But then I get too tired or whatever and forget. BUT I will make up for all of it now.

Last monday & wednesday, Angela and I (and Daniel on monday) went Shia LaBeouf stalking. Transformers 2 was filming in Princeton, and Angela & I want to sleep with famous people so we went to try and get our groupie on. Monday we saw Shia walking down the street and Angela followed him for a while, but it was clear he was trying to avoid her so we let him go. Wednesday we waited by the hotel after filming wrapped and we saw both Shia and Megan Fox, both are hothothot. Unfortunately no pictures :( But fond memories.

Friday, HeyKate and I went to a local band show, which we haven't done in AGES. I wore this:

plus these new shoes:

They are ace for boy catching

I miss going to these shows a lot, but it's better this way. Now I find them usually lame, but now I am also a Scene Queen. You see, when I was young and used to go to these things all the time, I was just some girl with a camera trying to groupie her way into hotter friends. Now, I don't talk to people, people talk to me. And people talk ABOUT me. No joke, we heard girls talking about us in the bathroom. Seriously. And moment of badassery:
Me (to boy, after his band has played.): Give me your phone.
Him: OH. (hands me his phone)
Me (after putting my number in): Text me something sexy tonight.
Him: Tonight? OH. Okay.

WIN.

And he did text me. It was fun.

Today I started work. 8 hours of putting labels on test tubes. I am waiting for The Doctor to come rescue me.

SPEAKING OF THE DOCTOR.
Episode 12 was BADASS. I cried for the Doctor & Rose, I cried for Torchwood (missing Tosh and Owen), I cried when The Doctor...well....I've got theories about his regeneration. I cried and screamed with glee and had trouble getting to sleep after.

I just got back from seeing WANTED with Angela.

I WANTED TO FUCK THIS MOVIE. I wanted to pull this movie into a back alley and screw its brains out.

Common was HOT, Angelina was HOT, and James made me cream myself on several occasions (see above).

Highly recommend it.

Many ace Angela & Tina moments tonight as well. Conning the Friday's staff into singing for us, telling people we were famous, bitchfaces, general fabulousity. My life would be incomplete without my wifey.

Also, HAUTE COUTURE SEASON HAS STARTED

BIG fashion update coming tomorrow!

Right and Right Again

I've been re-reading the Twilight series. Yeah. Okay. I get it. I'm obsessed. Whatever.

Let's talk about the fact that I have a new boyfriend. His name is Jackson Rathbone, and he plays Jasper Hale in the Twilight movie.

He is all sorts of lovely.

So monndaayy I hung out with Vince for a bit. He is lovely and really goodlooking, but says silly things like "you and your friends use big words". Silly! Then I met up with Angela and went to the St. Greg's carnival, which I've never been to before. It's pretty legit, but it was raining and there weren't a lot of people. Then we went to Fridays to meet up with Lesley. The girl who was the hostess asked us whether we wanted to sit in the bar or in a different area, and I said jokingly, "depends on if there are any hot guys". We chose to sit in the bar, and told the hostess (joking, of course) to sit any hot guys that come in at the table next to us. About five minutes later, she came back and sat two boys next to us, which cracked us up. They weren't really goodlooking, but it was hilarious. Turns out the hostess and I know each other - we have a lot of mutual friends. Her name is Lauren and she's really cute. I might have to hit up that Friday's again to hit on her.

After we ate we went out to Angela's "spot" and had a cigarette (soooo rebellious, I know) and layed ontop of her car, looking at the stars. It was lovely. We then went back to Angela's house to watch "Teeth".

LET ME TELL YOU. "Teeth" was an adventure. It's a movie about a girl who has teeth in her vagina, and she bites off penises of boys who are bad to her. I won't spoil the end for you. But it was gruesome and disturbing. I guess it was worth the watch, though. I was curious about it. It was an interesting experience.

Running on about two hours of sleep, we woke up at 4am to go to Anthropologie, where Angela works, to do Inventory. Basically we scanned things. It was .... I guess a good time? Angela, Lesley and I had a good time messing around and stuff. And a girl who I have a crush on works there, and she is gorgeous.

Let's talk about So You Think You Can Dance.

Fav dancers: Twitchington, Mark&Chelsea, Kourtni, Katee and Gev. I'm glad Marquis is gone. I thought Susie was a good dancer but he was a CRAP partner for her. I thought she could have done much better with a better partner. I really loved Courney & Gev's contemporary, and Mark&Chelsea's tango. I LOVE the Argentine tango, and I thought they danced it really well.

I'm really excited for "The Edge of Love" with Sienna Miller, Kiera Knightly, and Cillian Murphy.

There might be a little girl-on-girl action? Sienna & Kiera are both beautiful, so that would be nice. Plus Cillian is GORG. I really like the look of this movie, and I love stories that involve a lot of sex and love affairs and lesbianism, so this should be a good time!

I wrote a nice little short story last night at 4am. Finished it today. It's only about three pages long, but I'm happy with it.

I hope I find something to do this weekend. My social life needs to pick up speed.

When I Grow Up I Wanna Be Famous

True story.

Today's outfit, to go strawberry picking:

that ribbon in my hair was stolen from a box of chocolates.

Spent the day with my bbfl PJ, who is home from Boston finally. We went strawberry picking this morning at the farm up the road from me. Then we did a little (a LOT) slave labor this afternoon but we got paid for it so good times. Money is good. PS it is like IMPOSSIBLE to find a goddamn job around here. I'm getting frustrated. But I wrote a nice sci-fi story so I guess my free time is being put to good use.

I started running. Yesterday I did 1.33 miles. I'd say that's pretty good considering I havent run in at least a year or so.

So You Think You Can Dance tonight was FAB. I love that show. I loved Mia Michael's routine. That woman is a genius! She is fantastic and I love everything she choreographs. I also really liked Katee and Joshua's hip-hop routine. It was so wonderfully emotional and Katee had this great expression on her face. My favorite dancers right now are: Katee, Gev, Matt, Twitch, Kourtni, and Kherrington. I'm excited. SYTYCD is my favorite summer show.

I'm ready to admit that I'm an official Twilighter. I'm re-listening to all the books, I look forward to MTV's Twilight Tuesdays, and I am hoping to go see Stephenie Meyer in NYC in August. I want to kiss her. I also have Jacob and Edward playlists on my itunes. I'm pretty much on Team Jacob, but also Team Threesome. Team Bella-Is-Eighteen-And-Should-Slut-It-Up. .... I don't think S. Meyer would approve, but whatever. A girl can fantasize, right?

I've added a few more songs to my Summer 08 playlist: "Rangers" by A Fine Frenzy, "Shut Up & Let Me Go" by the Ting Tings, "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry, "Kissed by You" by Sebastien Tellier, "When I Grow Up" by the Pussycat Dolls, "My Vampire" by the Soho Dolls, and "Viva la Vida" by Colplay.

Next post is gonna be a huge fashion-centric post.

This post is dedicated to Laura Wyrick.

Inspiration

I've been slacking on this. I wanted to finish the Twilight series before I wrote again.

Actually, I couldn't write until I finished it. It's like crack. I became addicted. I couldn't concentrate on anything else but Bella and Edward and Jacob. I am totally on Team Jacob, btw. Amazing. I was really worried about the series, but I am in love and I'm okay with that.

I'm still jobless which means still broke which means full of SUCK. I'm bored and need money. ARG!

Today I did some research for my novel. Stars are fascinating. I'm really excited about where the story is going. Sometimes I'm worried I have too many ideas.

I also constructed an inspiration board for myself to help with the writing process. It turned into more of an inspiration wall.

I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Tomorrow I'm going to start running.

Twilight

I haven't been blogging (or doing anything, for that matter) because I've been engrossed in Twilight.

I heard about the movie via ONTD and obviously was excited by Robert Pattinson, and I have a crush on Kristen Stewart too so hot people+vampires = ACE.

I was a little skeptical about the book though because it seemed like such a trashy teen thing. I didn't want to actually buy the book because I thought it would be embarrassing, sitting there on my bookshelf. I downloaded an audio book instead and so for about three or four days I've done nothing but listen to this book be read to me. And as much as it is a trashy teen thing, I was enchanted by it. It really is a great story. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure thing. I'm really glad I decided to try it.

I slept till 5pm today because I was dreaming about Edward Cullen and vampires and things of that nature.

I hope to get on with normal life tomorrow. Today was weird.

Things I Am Loving Right Now

M.I.A.

This coat from H&M Fall 08

Memorial Day

Monday I had an interview with Barnes&Noble. It was boring. The guy said he needed people to work in the cafe so I, of course, stressed my love for books. There was a really cute boy working there though, so if I get that job at least I'll have someone to flirt with. Tomorrow I really have to start getting to work on sending out things for publication, and calling places where I've applied to bug them about hiring me.

For the interview I wore:

I think I looked alright but I couldn't help remembering that line from Doctor Who - "Don't wear black with colour, it makes the colour look cheap and the black look boring." Whatever.

I've been downloading a lot of music lately which is great for my itunes but not for my hard drive.
Got Jason Mraz's new album, "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" which is amazing and I love Jason. He's just really talented.
Also got Katy Perry's "One of the Boys" which is very pop-punky. I like it but the lyrics are a little childish. "I Kissed a Girl" is my favorite so far.
Re-downloaded A Fine Frenzy, "One Cell in the Sea". I lovelovelove her. Her music is just so...enchanting. I couldn't find my CD :( but she is gorgeous and her music is gorgeous and ugh love it.
Also downloaded some French music! When I grow up I want to be Une Parisienne.

After a short break...

Memorial Day weekend was glorious. My parents were away so obviously that means I invited a bunch of people over. We had a really great time ruined slightly by my bitchy sister but whatever the show must go on. Then Sunday was my high school's graduation. Alumni always come back so of course my dearest friends and I showed up in all our glory showing that college really does a body good. The ceremony was a little boring but we had a good time talking shit and having eye sex with hot teachers and things of that nature. Then my dear friend Daniel had a party later that day which was lovely. I enjoyed spending time with all my high school friends.

I wore:
Saturday night for Habatchi -

Sunday for Graduation -

Borrowed my sisters t-strap shoes for Sunday. Felt very 1920s Daisy Buchanan.

Weekend Round-up

Boyfriend of the week - Ben Barnes

Girlfriend(s) of the Week - Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson

Download of the Week: Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl

Today was boring. Mostly preparation for tomorrow. No real news except for this:

Yup, that is Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson.

Score one for the girls!

GUILTY PLEASURE THURSDAY

Yes my darlings! It is guilty pleasure thursday. Which means, grab yourself some ice cream, watch a chick flick/Grey's Anatomy, gossip, spend the whole day in your prom dress, things of that nature. I love GPT. Plus! So You Think You Can Dance premiers tonight and that is my favorite summer show.

I've been re-watching the films I own lately because I am too lazy to go out and get new ones. I really need to go out to the movies because there are so many I want to see that I haven't seen yet. I REALLY need to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall because my boyfriend Russell Brand is in it! My love for Russell knows no bounds.

Lovely.

I also really want to see Iron Man, and Speed Racer even though it got shit reviews. I love Emile Hirsch (Into The Wild was AMAZING) and Christina Ricci. I'm also hopefully going to go see Prince Caspian again and spend some time with my new boyfriend Ben Barnes.

I just finished watching Match Point. I've seen it before and it was not as sexy as I remember it being. Sometimes I like Scarlett Johansson and sometimes she bugs me. This time she bugged me. And Jonathan Rhys Meyers is fiiiinnee but his accent was bugging me in this movie. Decide if you're English or Irish, JRM, don't float in between. I just YouTubed him and sometimes he seems more Irish and sometimes more English. It's weird.

I also re-watched The Dreamers which was just as sexy as I remembered it and makes me want to move to Paris.

Louis, Michael, and Eva are just so beautiful together and so incredibly sensual. I love every second of this film and wish I knew where to find beautiful French friends like that.

I also wish I knew where to find French films. I bought a book called "Merde! The Real French You're Never Taught In School" which is like a dirty dictionary of slang terms and such. I'm really excited to read it and learn. Angela and I are going to try to use my dad's Rosetta Stone program to learn French so that we can move to Paris.

I also really want to re-paint my room but I have no idea what I want to do with it. I wish I had an artist friend who could just use my room as one big canvas. That would be ACE.

xoxo,
Christina

Job? pt. 2

Hit up Anthropologie today. I love that store so much and I would so love to work there. PLUS Angela (my wifey) and Corin (my lesbian fantasy) work there so it would just be like a dream job. Also put in an application at the B&N in that mall. Then there was a group interview at 5 for Anthropologie which was weird but they're obviously looking for the girls who stand out and speak up and stuff so I guess that's alright. I told the story about how Angela became my wifey. I hope they thought that was cute and they didnt go "fuckin homo" and write me off. CUZ THATS DISCRIMINATION! But all in all I think it was good and fabulous.

Wore this:

top - American apparel
skirt & headband - forever 21
shoes - urban outfitters
bag - betseyville by betsey johnson

of course nothing from anthropologie but i did feel very alice in wonderland

I just have to say one thing about American Idol ... COOK FTW what a babe.

So tomorrow I have to clean my room so I can make space for my dearest Connor who is coming to stay with me this weekend whilst my parents are away. Saturday night = party with my loves!! I'm so excited!

xoxo

Job?

Today I went job hunting which is a) boring b) boring c) boring. I hate having to get a job. But, I need the money. Theres this whole shopping addiction, you see. Unfortunately it requires financing.

I wore this:

Scarf I got for $7 on the street in NYC
American Apparel grey deep v-neck
jeans from delias
boots ive had forever from god knows where

it was raining :( no good.

I put in applications at Panera, Barnes & Noble, and Ruby Tuesday. Tomorrow Anthropolgie (!!) and I'll also get to see my wifey Angela and the beautiful Corin who Angela and I both have a crush on. I am very excited. I hope it doesn't rain again because I have a really cute outfit planned out.

Also, I have to talk American Idol

I fucking hate American Idol and I didn't really watch this season until I came home and started watching with my mom. David Cook is a babe, David Archuleta is a baby. I think DC is the better singer but DA will probably win because he plays the "oh golly gee oh my gosh wow" card which little girls and old ladies (the only people who watch the show) dig. Anyway tonight was the final performance show and DC could definitely done better. He's really very talented but didn't show it today. He could have picked better songs. What really bothers me is Archuleta's version of "Imagine". He's doing all these runs and shit and it doesn't even sound like the original version. There are some things you just dont fuck with, you know? That song is supposed to be really simple and melodic and Archuleta is just like "golly look what I can do! wowee!" which annoys me and I wanted DC to just thump him over the head with something, drag him off stage, and shove him in a closet until its all over.

Waste of my time, honestly.

I'm just glad Idol is almost over and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE can start because thats the best reality show EVER

PS - My dad just walked in, points to a picture of Audrey Kitching that's on my wall and goes "is that the drug addict?" I said "WTF?" He goes "That one with the black makeup who is on drugs." Me: "That's AMY WINEHOUSE"

I don't care how out of the loop you are, you should know who Amy Winehouse is. And Audrey looks nothing like Amy. WTF DAD.

Season Finales

OMFG Gossip Girl.

a) I LOVE Blair Waldorf. Love her. She can do no wrong. She is amazing. I want to be her. My friend wrote on my facebook wall during the show and said "I want to be Blair Waldorf. Is that a major in college?" I wish it was.

b) I LOVE Chuck Bass.

I think that says it all.

c) I LOVE C&B together. They are full of win.

d) Fuckiinnn Georgina I'm glad that bitch is gone. Again, Blair FTW. "Haven't you heard? I'm the crazy bitch around here." Can't get much better than that.

e) What is up with Serena and Dan? They're like Meredith and Derek. They're gonna be off and on until the show ends. WhatEVER.

f) Rufus = HOT. I am totally jealous of Lily. Ugh. Talk about DILF.

In conclusion: I love this show and it should never end.

Desperate Housewives

Okay, the season finale was good. Very dramatic. I love Brie and her infinite fierceness. I'm tired of Susan and Lynette and that look Tom always has on his face like "this is very puzzling/im angry/im trying too hard". Also, why do TV show children always go to ivy league schools? Why do none of them go to random state schools or anything? Ridiculous.

BUT. The highlight was the lovely face of Nathan Fillion:

Mmmhmm. He is so fine I think I'm going to watch Waitress tonight which I've had downloaded but have never gotten to watch. I'm excited.

Greys & Ugly Betty season finales on Thursday.

Inaugural Post

Basically this blog is all about summer: the fashion, books, movies, and happenings.

A little about me before we begin. My name is Christina and I'm 19. I live in New Jersey, which kind of sucks but is nice because its a halfway point between Philly and NYC. I am currently an English Major with hopes of becoming a professional writer (I'll be writing about attempts to get published here, so hopefully I'll be able to provide information to anyone who is looking to start a writing career as well!). I have awesome friends and we like to have a lot of fun. I like fashion, books (lots of books), film, boys and girls, photographs, vintage things, being outside, makeup, music, poetry, pretending I'm English, spending all day in bed, and not doing what my parents tell me.

Happy Summer!

Christina
